  1. blogging is a newer type of spreading the news, facts and opinions. although there is some differences between bloggers and journalists, but they still have the same mission. these differences are related to the specification of the journalists job, because he is restricted to what he can write and he can't just simply express all his opinions to public while he represent a professional task in a professional news company, meanwhile bloggers have no restrictions at all, because he made his own blog that he express all his feelings, emotions, opinions, suggestions and critics about whatever field he love to talk about, and its up to the public to accept it or not, but at the end its just an opinion of a person.
so we can come to conclucion that bloggers can be journalists if they can carry a great message to the public that doesnt represt his own only and its as effective as the journalists message.

  2. I agree with you dalia but bloggers is better than journalism because journalism takes some skill, however I do believe they play a fairly important role in providing sometimes useful or interesting information, via the web, and Journalists are obligid to write anyway! While blogging get feed back from different writers immediately

  3. I think there are some differences between bloggers and journalists. If the bloggers Journalists, they should follow certain guidelines in journalism of truth-telling, impartiality, and fairness. Doing pure news information. And blogger become more popular because its personal arena and we’re all entitled to express our thoughts. So i think the blogger are not Journalists.
Journalists on the other hand are bound by the journalistic code of ethics and standards. If we say that bloggers are journalists, it should be covered under the same standards. I am sure that Blogging became so popular because there were no hard rules at all. For the most part we don't have degrees in writing .Bloggers only for us to writ our opinion .and we do it for free, without restrictions.

  4. In my opinion, bloggers are not really journalists even though most of the people always create blogs is to write a person’s life daily. It sounds a bit like journalist as the job is to record daily events and recently highlights. But, compared to bloggers, journalists are considered the professionals as they have the ability to get information clearly and to have more feedbacks about their writing. However, both bloggers and journalists have the same task just by posting something on the blog.

  5. Even though bloggers and journalism almost sounded the same, they have their differences. Bloggers write because they want to express themselves and willingly doing it. They write what their feelings, thoughts and opinions and it is up to the public whether to except it or not. Of course, it is just an opinion of a person.
Journalists however, write because it is their job and they are getting paid for it. Also, journalist give facts even though they don't always get them right. Bloggers only write what they know and what they want to.

I agree with you. Bloggers write like they are writing a diary; expressing their emotions, opinions and also recording they're daily life without restrictions.
Journalists are professionals and they have certain guidelines to follow when giving out information unlike bloggers.

  7. Blogger and Journalists have similar task but brings different meaning to the readers. Blogger are write based on his/her own opinion and thoughts, without attending any training, they write what they think is right and mostly are write for fun. But, as Journalist, they need to attend certain training to become a Journalists. They write articles that happens around the world and the articles should be reliable. So in my opinion, blogger and jouranlists are two different position that share a same ideas;sharing their information/ story with the readers.

  8. To Dahlia, I agree what have you mention at your comments here. Blogger can write anything that he/she like to express and it is depend on how the readers want to accept it. But as Journalists, articles that they wish to write and the words they used will have restriction that they might need to follow. It is to avoid misunderstanding from the readers. So, this will differentiate between the blogger and journalist as well. But in my opinion, to become a journalist must at least need to attend training and learns to become a qualified journalist.

  9. To Rui: u spoke sense! for a blogger to be a journalist, he must follow the journalist standard. because the journalist must obey certain code of ethics because he can't express his opinions freely while the blogger as you said, have no rules to write and publish.

  10. To Yen Yean: i see no objection that journalists and bloggers can never be same. but then again, its not only for spreading news around, because journalist do also express their opinions and thoughts but they have restriction. and also, being journalist or good blogger is based on a talent in the person himself, and further studies is for further improvements and special and professional skills.

I agreed with you. Bloggers are just normal people who express their feelings and ideas on the blog while journalists are more experienced as they are qualified writers.

It's true that if the blogger can be great in writing and be able to give informations to the community. But, there are some differences between bloggers and journalists besides expressing their opinions on the blog. The blogger must have special training before they become a journalist. Journalists are well-trained people and they have their own identity as" journalists". Bloggers can write as good as the journalists, but they didn't gone through the training like the journalists did.

Yes! Even though bloggers and journalism have some similarity .but there’s a difference between them .people always use blogs to write a person’s life daily. And journalism has boundedness on writing. They do it on obligation.

  16. To: Han Rui. I agree with you. A person needs to follow certain guidelines to becoming a Journalist. While blogger, they no need to follow any rules and guidelines to post a comment or share their thoughts to public. And I also agree with you that if blogger are journalist, they should follow the same rules and guidelines as a journalist. So, they are able to receive the benefits as a journalist as well. Besides, blogger writes for fun but journalist is writes for given information to the readers and the information shall be reliable and accurate.
